Laptop computers have come a long way in the last decade. Another thing to check out is the battery life of the laptop. The size of the battery itself has a lot to do with how long it will last, so find out what type of battery comes with it. In addition to the size of the battery, the processor and the size of the screen also has a lot to do with how long the battery lasts. More powerful processors and bigger screens typically mean lower battery life.
If your hard drive also could be one of many different speeds too. And the connection type of the hard drive matters in terms of how fast it can operate and transfer data to the processor as well. The faster hard drives are usually more expensive, but they’re usually worth it since it’ll allow your computer to find information much more quickly - speeding up your computer functionality, and making your computer fast.
The size of the screen, and therefore the size of the computer also makes a difference. If you are just browsing the internet most of the time, a smaller screen will probably work out fine. But if you want to be able to use spreadsheets or play games, you’ll probably want to get a larger screen. And for game playing, you’ll also want to make sure the computer has a good video card since that can’t be added later either (not for most laptops anyway).
Then there are all of the other little features that may or may not be present in a laptop. Some of them include fingerprint readers, touch-sensitive buttons for media controls, touchpads, speakers, a webcam and microphone, media card readers, and ports for USB, firewire, headphones, and other things. And of course, the wireless adapter is an important consideration as well.
