A little about public procurement in Ukraine

Taking into account the holding of Euro 2012 in Ukraine there is a growth market of public procurement relating to the construction of infrastructure for the European football championship (stadiums, hotels, roads, electrical substations, etc.)
In order to avoid of abuse in the market of gov tenders, to creation of competitive environment and to escape corruption, the national administration has introduced legislative mechanisms of regulation of tender process. Over the past five years, legislation and, accordingly, the rules in government tenders have changed several times. The existing law of government tenders contains a provision on equal participation in procurement process, both domestic and foreign manufacturers, creating a competitive environment and providing efficient use of government finances.
Without looking at the specified equality of participants and the transparency of procurement procedures, the Ukrainian realities are different from other world norms and overseas companies rather difficult to independently enter in to the market of public procurement.
